Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Secure Storage application ("the app") developed by Souvik Biswas ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Acknowledgement

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Souvik Biswas only, and not with Apple, Inc. ("Apple"). Souvik Biswas, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Secure Storage app and its content. These Terms may not conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

2. Description of Service

Secure Storage is an offline encrypted vault for iOS that allows you to securely store credit cards, passwords, and documents on your device. All data is encrypted using AES-256 and protected by a master password with Argon2id key derivation. The app operates entirely offline — no data is transmitted to or stored on external servers.

3. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not distribute or make the app available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.

4. Age Requirement

You must be at least 17 years old to use Secure Storage. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you are at least 17 years of age. If you are under 17, you may not download, install, or use the app.

5. User Responsibilities

By using Secure Storage, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Master password: You are solely responsible for creating, remembering, and safeguarding your master password. We cannot recover or reset your master password. If you forget it, your encrypted data cannot be accessed and will be permanently lost.
  • Device security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including keeping your iOS version up to date and using a device passcode.
  • Data backups: Since the app is offline-only, data is not backed up to any cloud service. You are responsible for any data loss resulting from device loss, damage, or app deletion.
  • Lawful use: You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

6. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to Secure Storage. We do not collect, access, or transmit any of your stored data. The app does not require account creation — there are no usernames, cloud profiles, or server-side credentials. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The Secure Storage app, including its design, code, icons, animations, and content, is the intellectual property of Souvik Biswas and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on the app without prior written consent.

8. Maintenance and Support

Souvik Biswas may provide updates, bug fixes, or support for the app at his sole discretion. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the app.

9. Warranty

Secure Storage is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of vulnerabilities
  • Any data stored in the app will be preserved indefinitely
  • The encryption will be impervious to all possible attacks

While we implement industry-standard encryption (AES-256, Argon2id), no security system is absolute. You use the app at your own risk.

In the event the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

10. Product Claims

Souvik Biswas, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to the app or your possession and/or use of the app, including but not limited to: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

11. Intellectual Property Claims

In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of the app infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Souvik Biswas, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Souvik Biswas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal harm arising from:

  • Your use or inability to use the app
  • Loss of data due to a forgotten master password, device loss, or app deletion
  • Unauthorized access to your device or data
  • Any bugs, viruses, or errors in the app
  • Any interruption or cessation of the app

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Souvik Biswas from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the app
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Any data or content you store within the app
  • Your failure to maintain the security of your master password or device

This indemnification obligation survives the termination of these Terms and your use of the app.

14. Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that: (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You will comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws and regulations.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation by contacting us at support@securestorage.app. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

If you are a resident of the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, and the courts of your habitual residence shall have jurisdiction over consumer disputes.

16. Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

17. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Upon uninstallation, all locally stored data is permanently deleted. We may terminate or suspend your license to use the app if you violate these Terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Souvik Biswas regarding the use of the app, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
